This policy explains what information Raga - The Vocal Path (“the app”) — the website at www.ragamate.com and our Android and iOS apps — uses, and why. The app is made by Nova Incepta Inc. (“we”, “us”).

In short: your voice never leaves your device, there is no account, and your settings and progress are saved only on your device. The exceptions are described below: advertising, and the basic technical information any website or app download involves.

Microphone

Practice screens use your microphone to detect the pitch you sing. The sound is analysed on your device, in the browser or the app, as you sing. It is not recorded, stored or sent to us or anyone else.

The microphone is used only while you have started it (“Start Mic”) on a practice screen, and stops when you stop it or leave the screen. You can withdraw microphone access at any time in your browser or phone settings; the practice screens then can’t hear you, and everything else keeps working.

Settings and progress

Your choices (Sa, raag, practice level, language, note names, volumes, tempos) and your practice progress (guided plan steps, attempts, best holds) are saved on your device: in your browser’s local storage on the website, and in the app’s own storage on Android and iOS. We don’t receive them.

You can delete them with “Reset progress” in Settings, by clearing the site’s data in your browser, or by uninstalling the app.

No account, no analytics

There is no sign-up and we don’t ask for your name, email or other personal details. We don’t use analytics or tracking tools of our own.

Advertising

To keep the app free, it may show ads from Google — Google AdSense on the website and Google AdMob in the apps. Ad providers may use cookies (website) or your device’s advertising identifier (apps), along with your IP address and general device information, to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them, and prevent fraud. Ads may be personalised to your interests where you allow it.

Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, you’re asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice later. On iPhone and iPad, personalised ads are shown only if you allow tracking when the app asks; you can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

Google handles this data under its own policies; see how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and My Ad Center to manage ad personalisation.

Hosting and app stores

The website is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it processes technical information needed to deliver the pages and keep them secure, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, and may keep it briefly in logs. We don’t use this to identify you.

The apps are distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, which handle downloads and updates under their own privacy policies and may share aggregated, anonymous statistics (such as install counts or crash reports, if you’ve agreed to share them) with developers.

Contacting us

If you email us at [email protected], we use what you send only to reply and to improve the app.

Children

The app is a general-audience music practice tool and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Because your settings and progress stay on your device, you can view, change or delete them yourself at any time as described above. For any privacy question or request, including about data handled by advertising, please email us at [email protected].

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if the app’s handling of data changes, and change the “Last updated” date above.
